Preservice training is provided to graduate and undergraduate students in:

Conducting research syntheses,
Developing practice guides based on research syntheses, and
Developing methods for testing and evaluating the effectiveness of guides.

The RTC approach to conducting practice-based research syntheses is described in a procedural manual prepared specifically for graduate students. The procedural manual, Interlock, includes step-by-step guidelines for conducting literature reviews and preparing research syntheses. Interlock has been field tested with students in four graduate programs.
